Will You Walk in Faith?

There was a certain nobleman whose son was sick at Capernaum. When he heard that Jesus had come out of Judea into Galilee, he went to Him and implored Him to come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death. Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your son lives.” So the man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and he went his way.

John 4:6-84, 50

Upon hearing Jesus had come to Galilee, he took a walk of faith from Capernaum to see Him. After walking 16-and-a-half miles, he begged Jesus to come to his house in Capernaum to heal his sick and dying son. Although Jesus could have walked to Capernaum to heal the nobleman’s son, He healed him from Galilee with a word. He simply said, “Go home; your son lives.” And immediately the healing process began. The nobleman in John 4 believed the words of Jesus, therefore, he walked away in faith.

Have Confidence in God

The reason the nobleman was able to leave satisfied in his heart, is because he understood that faith requires trust. He could have said, “But Lord, you don’t know what shape my son is in. If you don’t come and heal my son, he will die!” Instead, he simply turned around and went home! He literally took a walk of faith.

How far would you walk for your healing? Would you walk 16-and-a-half miles only to hear the healer say “Go home”? And would you believe all is well without so much as saying a word?

Although the Bible tells us to walk by faith, there are times we have to literally walk in faith. On the way to that job interview, have confidence in God, believing that you already have the job. When you’re going to follow up with the doctor about a negative diagnosis, walk in faith. Believe the cancer is gone; believe God has already taken care of the problem.

Lord, help me today to walk in faith, for I know that You are a faithful God. Give me the grace to remain confident in your love. Although I have doubted you in the past, I declare today, that I will walk in confidence, believing that all is well with me.
