the Holy Spirit is our Helper

“And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you” (John 14:16-17).

Help is Here

As I worshipped God this morning, I thought about the millions in need of help to recover from coronavirus. Life’s problems are pushing many people to their breaking point. In a world filled with darkness, people are worried about violence, their health, and paying their bills. Many people who have never needed assistance are standing in food lines for their next meal. Our nation needs healing. Despite what we are going through, it is refreshing to know that God answers prayer, and we have an ever-present Helper.

Lifting my hands in worship, I began to worship God and thank Him for sending the Helper to help, counsel, intercede, advocate, and strengthen me in times of trouble. The Bible says that Jesus helped everyone who implored Him for help. “Great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them all” (Matthew 12:15). Friends, I want you to know that Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. That means He is still helping those who call on Him for help.

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth, and He will be with us forever. However, people of the world cannot receive Him because they do not know Him. But if you belong to Christ, the Holy Spirit lives with you and in you, and He will be with you forever. In a world filled with lies and uncertainties, we can look to Him for truth and guidance. So whatever you need help with, be it health, finances, friendships, drug addiction, or family, the Holy Spirit is available to help you.

Heavenly Father, I thank You for the gift of Your Holy Spirit. I acknowledge Him as my Helper and my Counselor. Today, I pray that Your Holy Spirit will guide me in truth and intercede for me throughout the day. I trust that Your Holy Spirit will be my defense against the schemes of the devil. Thank You for Your strength and wisdom. I pray that You will keep me safe, healthy, and secure throughout the day. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
