Jesus was the greatest gift of God to the whole world. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son.” Jesus was born to save humanity; He was also born to die. But had He remained dead, His birth and death would have certainly been for nothing. However, He got up from the grave.
God’s love permeated the world until Adam fell. Through his disobedience, sin entered the world, bringing the sickness, pain, death, and tears that we experience today. The Bible says, “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning,” Well, friends, joy came on the morning that He got up.
The resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus the Messiah has sealed the deal. By faith, we are free. Jesus has delivered us from sickness and disease. By His stripes, we were healed. He carried our pain when He got up. Death could not hold Him and it will not hold us. For if we died with Him. We have risen with Him.
Resurrection Sunday, also known as Easter, is a sacred holiday that is celebrated by Christians worldwide. The resurrection of Jesus Christ signals a new order. By faith, all things are new, all because He got up.
Celebrate New Life
As you celebrate Resurrection Sunday, don’t let it be just another holiday celebration. Remember the reason for the celebration. Celebrate because He got up. “O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory? Death could not harm Him, and the grave could not hold Him.
Lord Jesus, I thank You not only because You gave Your life for me, but because You got up from the grave. I thank You, for a new beginning. Everything about me is new All of my old habits, my unhealthy and ungodly desires died when You died. I believe that You conquered death so that I might also live again with You. For as You are, so am I in this world. Amen.
