As Hurricane Ida nears the Louisiana coast, New Orleans residents have faith in God that the city will survive the onslaught of this monstrous storm.
On the sixteenth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, the people of New Orleans are preparing for another killer hurricane. Hurricane Ida will make landfall this afternoon on the southern coast of Louisiana as a category 5 hurricane. The storm is packing winds of 155mph. It is the strongest storm to make landfall in Louisiana’s history. Nevertheless, in the midst of Hurricane Ida, we in New Orleans will continue to have faith in God. We ask you to join us in praying that God for us and the residents of Louisiana.
The Bible says we have the same faith as God. “And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak” (2 Corinthians 4:13).
That is what Jesus did when He and His disciples encountered a terrible storm. Jesus spoke to the wind and the waves. He told the wind to be quiet and the sea to be still, and they obeyed Him. Jesus taught His disciples to have faith in God. He told them to speak to the problem, and it would have to obey them
For assuredly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.”
Mark 11:22-24
In approximately five hours, we will be in the midst of this terrible storm. Please stand with us in prayer as we prepare for Hurricane Ida. Remember, all things are possible if you believe, and believing faith speaks.
