God Is Our Present Help In Trouble

God is our present help

Psalm 46:1
“God is our refuge and strength
A present help in trouble.”

God is our present help in times of trouble. Throughout the Bible, God says, “Do not be afraid.” That’s because God wants you to know He is always there to assist you in your distress.

Many times when we experience setbacks, it seems as though God is a million miles away. But don’t despair, things are not always as they appear to be. God is present to help. Trust that He is with you in your dilemma. Rather than focus on how big your problem is, try focusing on how big your God is. God sees you and against all odds, He will come to your aid when you need Him.

When Jesus’ disciples were crossing the Sea of Galilee, they encountered a terrible storm. The storm would have surely taken their lives if Jesus had not shown up to help them. The Bible says that Jesus was on the mountain praying when He looked down and saw the disciples desperately rowing their boat in the middle of the sea. They had been rowing for several hours, but they had only reached the halfway point of their journey. I’m sure the disciples thought they would perish in the storm. However, in their darkest hour, Jesus came walking on the sea to save them.

The Bible says Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). Friends, Jesus loves you. He will never let you down. He was a present help for the disciples and He will be a present help for you. So don’t be afraid. Remember that God is your present help. He sees you in your storm.

Father, I thank You in advance for rescuing me in my time of trouble. Today, I will not be afraid because I know You are my present help.
